Kitchen fire temporarily closes Merrick's in North Platte

A small kitchen fire at Merrick's in North Platte caused the restaurant to be temporary closed.

308 BMX of North Platte has been working for a couple years to raise money for a BMX track to be located at South Park in North Platte. Giving Tuesday presented a challenge for them to raise money for charity and possibly win the money needed.

Sometimes pursing your passion means moving halfway across the country. Just ask Camaura Scott, who moved to North Platte from Florida to work with AmeriCorps.

Tuesday marks the annual Giving Day, or Giving Tuesday, across the country.
